Shancer Software has released an awesome host module for use with the DotNetNuke framework.  This module installs easily and creates it's own host menu item and page with the module already installed.

With the module installed it was easy to encrypt my connection string section and my app settings section of my web.config file.  The site's performance was not impacted at all and continued on as normal with all testing.

This module solves the issue of not being able to secure entries within the config file securely.  It is a simple module developed in a professional manner to make security of your config file a sure thing.  The module can be purchased at Snowcovered.  More information about the module can be found at Shancer Software's website.

On Monday, November 12, 2007 Shancer Software released their first version of Slide Show for DotNetNuke.  Providing the tools to establish a simple slide show within the DotNetNuke Framework.

Using the settings of the module allows for quick addition and subtraction of images from the module.  With a simple  upload of an image it can be placed on the server in the directory of choice with little effort and added to the image rotation at the same time.

Once the images have all been added to the settings that you want to include you can then click the update button which will then allow those images to rotate on the time that you set up within the slide speed drop down box.

To delete any images from the slide show you can simply check the images to delete click the delete button and it will remove all of the images that are checked from the module.  To find out more information about the module it can be found here.  The module can be purchased at Snowcovered.

Woke up this morning with a great email in my inbox.  I"ve been working with a client on getting their web site launched and providing them with a new piece of storefront software.  And this morning I woke to them sending me and email about their site and business being mentioned in the provincial paper under the business section

Net assets produce profitable business is the title of the article.  The business Bay Hammocks has only been online for approximately 6 months and have gone from relative unknowns in the hammock industry to being a very popular site.

When I started working with Bay Hammocks they were located at about page 30 or so on a search for hammocks or hammock.  The are now located at page 1 or 2 on any of the major searches for hammocks.
